Sagenitic Agate is any agate having acicular or needle like mineral or crystal growths, intersecting in a grid-like or grill-like manner. These hair-like filaments are often arranged in fans or starbursts. The inclusions come in a wide array of colors.
The formations of fanning sagenite crystals that have been encapsulated in a mass of pseudomorphic agate. This occurs when agate fills a cavity within rock that had prior formations of minerals, in this case being the golden sagenite crystal clusters.
